One New Lenox school continued its dominance in Class 2A, while another took a major step forward.

Lincoln-Way West’s Day 1 score of 90.56 at the state competition on Jan. 26-27 comfortably was within the Top 12 teams to advance to Day 2 for the third consecutive year. The Warriors finished tied for seventh with St. Francis (89.44). It didn’t top their results from the past three years where they finished fourth twice and third in 2015, but to coach Melissa Sweeney, being a consistent threat year in, year out is just as rewarding.
