School’s out on an April 7 Friday afternoon at Martino Junior High. But instead of students clamoring to the busses and teachers to their cars to head home for the weekend, they stuck around to spend an extra hour or so for a good cause.
Students, teachers, parents and volunteers all met at Martino’s track for Martino Out Walks Cancer event. All participants walked for about an hour-and-a-half straight to help raise money for the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest. At the end, the event raised $2,000 for the Orland Park-based foundation.
