Lincoln-Way West high jumper Nicholas Piekutowski gears up for his attempt. He cleared six feet at the Homewood-Flossmoor Sectional Thursday, May 17, tying for seventh in the 23-man field.
Lincoln-Way Central pole vaulter Jacob Erickson earned two points for the Knights after he finished tied for fifth in his event. The highest height he cleared was 13 feet.
Central shotputter Nathan Schickel finished in first place in his flight and finished 12th overall in the 27-man field.
Central shotputter Sam Stabosz’s best attempt was 35 feet, six inches.

Being in the same track and field sectional as the top team in the state, along with another perennial power, and placing third is pretty good.

It was for the Lincoln-Way East boys track and field team. The Griffins qualified six different people in seven events for this weekend’s state finals, and placed third in the Class 3A Homewood-Flossmoor Sectional on Thursday, May 17 in Flossmoor.
