Former Lincoln-Way Central wrestler Steven Patterson knew that once he graduated college, he wanted to do jiujitsu for the rest of his life. 

But the question was how to make a living off of it.

The New Lenox resident competed professionally and has a pro record of 3-2 in mixed martial arts, but those who are not in the top one percent struggle to make a living, he said.
