The total amount requested in this year’s levy is $57,952,442, which represents an increase of approximately $2 million over last year. This increase accounts for an inflation rate of 1.9 percent and taxes on $20 million in new property within the district. 

The tax levy, which was presented to the board by business manager Robert Groos, accounts for 80 percent of the district’s annual funding and is generally increased every year in order to prevent budget cuts.
