The New Lenox Police Department and Fire Department stepped up and made two New Lenox girls’ days by having a mini parade to celebrate their birthdays on two different days.

Nine-year-old Brooke Martenz had both of her birthday parties canceled on March 22 because of the coronavirus quarantine.

The family put a sign in the front yard saying “honk for Brooke’s birthday,” but with everyone inside, not many people saw the sign. But one quick phone call to the NLPD by Brooke’s grandpa, Tom Cellini, changed that.
