The Village of New Lenox and its Safe Communities America Coalition is holding a free bleeding control class, during which attendees will learn skills that can make a difference in life-and-death situations.

The event — to be held 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the New Lenox Village Hall, 1 Veterans Parkway — is to focus on treating injuries that could be sustained in motor vehicle crashes, mass shootings, at home, at work or in the wilderness.
