Lincoln-Way West’s record didn’t really show it, but the Warriors were a much more competitive team this winter than a season ago.

During the Class 4A Oswego regional quarterfinal against Plainfield Central on Feb. 25, the Warriors remained within striking distance until midway through the third quarter when the Wildcats pulled away behind a 10-0 run and then cruised the rest of the way in a 48-32 victory.
