Lincoln-Way Central senior defender Andrew Burton has been waiting a long time for his first high school goal, coming close many times but never quite finding the back of the net.

Until Sunday, Oct. 13, that is. It was worth the wait.

Burton scored on a header in the final minute of the first half and it stood up as the lone goal in the Knights’ 1-0 win over Andrew in the championship match of the PepsiCo Showdown Apple Chevy bracket at Lyons.
