The awards of the Top 3 spots had been given at the State Finals last weekend when Lincoln-Way West cheerleading coach Nicole White got the news. Then she excitedly huddled her team together.
"We got fourth, we made history," she enthusiastically exclaimed to her team.
Indeed, the Warriors did make school history. While they did place higher in the state four years ago, that was in the Medium Team Division. This was in the Large Team class, and that's widely considered to be the toughest of the four state divisions.
