Lincoln-Way West’s Karter Guzman is getting over his freshman fears and starting to make a difference in the Warriors’ lineup.

Guzman went 3-0 at 106 pounds at West’s Mega Duals on Saturday, Jan. 11, helping the Warriors go 3-0 as a team.

“It’s been really fun,” Guzman said. “The group pushes me and stuff. I had a little bit of a rough start, but I’m starting to do better.

“My confidence has improved a lot. At the beginning of the season, I was a little bit iffy being a freshman, but now that I’ve seen I can win, I feel a lot better.”
