After rolling through much of the season, Lincoln-Way West senior Payton Geigner hit a bit of a rough patch in January.

In the Warriors’ final two tournaments of the regular season, Geigner finished second at the Illini Classic and third at the Tom Lahey Invitational.

Those were hardly results to be ashamed of against tough competition, but Geigner certainly was not pleased.

“The last two weeks, with tournaments and everything, I had to change my attitude,” he said. “Everything that’s bad, you have to block that all out.”
